KICKING OFF our 15-Artist-Peeks-In-15-Days series is Leontine Greenberg - an amazing painter, puppet-maker, and prop designer. Her gouache and pencil paintings combine humor, nature, and technology for charmingly offbeat pieces. Leontine has shown at galleries around the country, including ThinkSpace Gallery, Gallery1988, C.A.V.E. Gallery and myplasticheart NYC. She will have 3 paintings in the upcoming exhibit, 15 Beats: The Artists of My Plastic Heart, opening Friday, June 21st at the Bunnycutlet Gallery. Don’t miss it!
Brooklyn! Please come out and play!
The houses have no doors. No one ever goes in or out. But at night, light shines from the windows; on a cold day, smoke rises.
There are fingerprints on the windowpanes, hastily scribbled messages on cloudy glass: a smiley face, hello. Behind them, shadows waltz. The creatures dance — one, two three; one, two three — to each home’s song or cry.

Enter The Magical World Of Leontine Greenberg
If you’re a member of the NYC vinyl community, you probably already know about Leontine Greenberg, whose paintings fly off the shelves at shows. She is one of my absolute favorite artists, and Stephen and I are lucky enough to own two original paintings by her. Her work is full of whimsy and often has a rather bizarre, macabre twist, so it fits right in with the rest of our collection!
Thanks for this great write-up, Leah!
